Uses of Water


The uses of water is used for drinking, cooking, bathing etc.,. Plants and animals can not live without water. So, we should not waste the water.


There is 80% of water is there on the earth about 97% of earth's water is in the oceans. only 3% of the earth's water can be used for drinking. 80% of water is frozen in the form of polar ice caps. we can live without water for about 1 week. The water that we use mainly comes from rivers, ponds, lakes and wells. Often sand, dirt, mud, germs etc., make this water unfit for consumption. We call these substances impurities. Impurities are of 2 kinds they are:


  1. Soluable impurities are the ones that dissolves in water (Eg: Salt)

  2. Insoluable Impurities are the ones that do not dissolves in water (Eg: sand)
